SMASH Daily Email List on Hold for Now

Why do I blog? I blog to help you Save Money And Stay Home with your kids. I have not monetized my blog. I view my blog as a ministry. That being said if you are  my daily email list the list has stopped until I can find a FREE way to send my daily email recaps. I was paying $4 a month to have my email list severer. Which is crazy. If I am teaching you how to save money but I am losing $4 that is just crazy. So, I am looking for a way to get the email list severer going for FREE. It is a painful trade off  not having a email list right now but it is all in the name of being SMASHing.

If you want to keep up to date with late braking deals like SMASH with your kids on Facebook.

This is an example of the Ads that I don't endorse on my email list server.

1. I went to CVS and used a Manufacturer's Coupon for $4 off Natural Instincts that I got from Target.
Tip: If you get a coupon from one retailer you can use it at any retailer as long as it is a Manufacturer's Coupon.
2. Natural Instincts was on sale for $5.99
3. I got a CVS Extrabucks of $2 to use on my next purchase.
4. So the grand total is I made $0.01 and got a FREE box of hair color. You can find deals like this too. Just keep your eyes open and don't buy anything you don't need and you will win at this couponing game. Have a SMASHing day!

I Saved 99 Percent Today and You Can Too

Today, I used coupons and retailers offers to get $105.00 work of items for only $1.50. That is 99% off. How did I do it? Here is how:

The coat in the photo is a coat for Baylor. I got it from Lands End for FREE. How did I get it for FREE?

Well, Lands End has a lifetime guarantee See it here
So, when the zipper broke on Baylor's coat that we bought three years ago I take it back and got this new coat for FREE. By the way the coat from three years ago still fit Baylor. We buy coats a bit big to last a little longer.

The family photo was FREE from Walgreens. If you are not on their mailing list get on it now here. Walgreens often sends out FREE photo deals.

The Cra-Z-loom is from Toys R Us and I got it for FREE with a coupon I got for FREE from Groupon. If you are not using Groupon sing up here today. A fact I did not know before today. My Groupon was for $15 and the Cra-Z-loom was $14.99 because my price was below the $15.00 Groupon value I did not owe any taxes. How cool is that!

The Chick-fil-A tea was FREE with my 2013 CFA calendar rewards card. Look for the 2014 CFA rewards calendar at your CFA.

The socks and candles were only $1.39. I used a $10 off $10 or more coupon that was mailed to me from Kohl's. If you are not on their mailing list sign up today here. I get a $10 off $10 coupon every few months.

At CVS I scanned my rewards card and got coupons for FREE mascara and FREE pain relief caplets. All I had to pay was $0.11 in taxes. If you are not a member of rewards get a rewards card next time you are at CVS.

Notice how I got all these deals today. In an effort to Save Money And Stay Home with my kids I try to save all my shopping for one day so I am not wasting time and gas making multiple trips.

Cancer Scare - But Don't Call Me A Vegan

So what a crazy week it has been. Last week I got a call on my home phone and laughed and told my hubby it has to be a parent or a kid's school because nobody else calls us on the home phone. Nope, it was UK Hospital calling to say something was wrong with my mammogram, but they couldn't tell me the problem over the phone and I would have to come in for another mammogram and ultrasound within the week.

I had a peace that can only come from the Holy Spirit and I was not worried but you can't help but think about the what ifs. What would the lives of my hubby, kids, and family be like without me? Have I loved people enough?  Have I planted seeds? Have I been a blessing to the people in my path?  And a million other soul-searching thoughts that popped up over a long week.

It was a long week waiting to go back for testing. I noticed I don't have enough photos of me with the kids, hubby, and family. If I was gone tomorrow I would regret all the times I jumped out of photos for my own vanity -- I look too fat, my hair is crazy bla bla bla. I walked in this crazy kinda daze for a week.

But out of that hazy week came prayer and clarity. Three years ago when my then 11 year old son was stuck with Burkitt's Lymphoma, we started to study about all things health. One thing became every clear to us. The way we eat as Americans is killing us. We have worked really hard for the past three years to eat better, cleaner more whole. We have known for a while that a plant-based diet was the best for health but that just seemed too hard and crazy.

Before my test I felt a very strong leading of the Holy Spirit to move our family towards a plant-based diet. I don't like the word Vegan because it has all kinds of political junk that goes along with it. Yes, I will wear wool and leather. I am not going to call myself a Vegan. I will call myself a Genesis 1:29 eater.

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so. Genesis 1:29-30.

So, I will eat the way God originally intended for us to eat; no meat, dairy, or anything that was ever an animal.

After four hours of testing and waiting in a lovely pink open front grown in a room with eight other women wearing the same lovely gown my test revealed all the problems on my mammogram were poly-cystic disease; not cancer. God is good all the time! I will be curious to see if the poly-cystic disease goes away as I switch to a plant-based diet.

If you want to see a few movies that have lead me to this point watch

Forks Over Knives (2011) or the Gerson Miracle.

So after a week of walking in fog, I am going to be in more pictures, be more evangelical, love people more, and eat like I live in Genesis 1:29.
