My dear friend and sorority sister is going to be on Big Brother. Go Shelly.
Shelly is a great friend and has been a great support for me while Logan has been sick this past year. Go be a fan of Shelly on CBS.com
The 13th season of the CBS-TV reality program “Big Brother” will feature an Eastern Kentucky University graduate.
Shelly Moore, a 1993 EKU graduate, will be the oldest (at 41) of eight new houseguests when the latest season premieres Thursday, July 7 at 9 p.m. EDT. “Big Brother” airs three times a week: Thursdays, Sundays and Wednesdays. The live eviction shows air on Thursdays.
Moore, now an outdoors industry executive residing in Prairieville, La., was very active while an EKU student. She served a term as Panhellenic Council president and was a member of the Homecoming Court in 1991. In addition, she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority, Mortar Board, Centerboard and Kappa Delta Pi.
The wife and mother told the Zap 2 It website that she sees “Big Brother” as “an awesome human experiment.
"I'm going to put myself in a situation with all the skills that I have with a pretty unique cast of characters, people from all different walks of life, and see if the real traits that I have I can use to get by and get to the end and win," she said. "And I think it'll really show you a lot about yourself. What do I do good, what do I do not-so-good, am I too trusting, am I too sensitive, am I too loud, am I too intimidating, you look at all those things."
In addition to eight new houseguests this summer, the latest season of the series will bring back the most dynamic duos from past efforts. Dubbed “Double Trouble,” the returning houseguests will affect the way the newbies play the game. Viewers won’t know who will be returning until the season premiere, when they’re unveiled.
The contestants will be living in a Venice Beach loft-inspired house, including a Frank Gehry-inspired bedroom, surfboards on the walls, an indoor chess park, a tarot card parlor and a popsicle room.
